2007 Racing Results

I am sorry that I was not doing my job posting the results but most of you know that we are very busy kids, work, sports and racing!!!
Our season is over now for Michigan!
We will be going to Talladega, Alabama the first weekend in October! We might get to a race in Tennessee in November weather and work permitting!! January we will be attending the Ice Bowl in Talladega the start the year off again!!

We thank everyone for their support and cheers! We hope to see more of you next year at the track!!

September 15

The "Great Lakes Nationals" at Crystal Motor Speedway!! 45 mods attempted to win $3000! Chad started 5th in Heat 2 out of 5 heats. He finished 4th and transferred to the Last Chance qualifier. He started outside front row and lead the whole race to take home the win. He transferred to the Feature starting in 16th position. He worked his way up to 5th when a caution came out and he took the restart on the inside and fell back to finish 9th!! He accomplished his goal to finish in the top 5 in points for the season with 3rd!! Great job!!!

September 8

We traveled to Winston Motor Speedway near Lake Michigan! It was a very nice track and beautiful weather!! Chad started in Heat 2 in 9th and finished 7th. He started 9th in the b main and finished 8th! This was just for fun and we were out motored and the track was like driving on ice! But it was fun to play with our friends Mike, Dave, Jason, Chancy and Brad!!

September 2

Championship night at Mid Michigan Raceway Park! Chad qualified 6th out of 14 cars! He started front row outside of heat 2 and finished 2nd! He started in 6th position in the feature with a 5th place finish!!

September 1

A nice night at Crystal Motor Speedway!! We started Heat 4 in 7th and finished 5th. He went through the C Main starting in 4th and held his position. He started 20th in the Feature and was held up but still gained 5 positions to finish 15th!!

August 25

It was Season Championship Night at Crystal Motor Speedway! What an Awesome night!! The top 12 in points are locked into the Feature and lucky for us we were 5th in points!
Chad started Heat 1 in 9th position and worked his way up to 4th. He started the feature in 8th position working his way towards the front, he got up to 2nd then a caution came out which put him on the inside for the restart. He fell to 3rd watching 1st and 2nd battling and taking each other out and handed the Lead to Chad! with about 12 laps to go and a couple more cautions Chad held his own capturing his 1st Feature win ever!!! He also gain 2 positions in points!! Awesome job!! Congratulations!!!! There is a claimer rule in IMCA and our motor was claimed that night!! The top 4 finishers motor can be claimed by 5th place and back! Oh well that is racing!!

August 12

Mid Michigan Raceway Park! Chad qualified 6th out of 18 cars!He started on the pole of the 3rd heat and finished 2nd behind Dave Rhea. He started the Feature on the pole with a 3rd place finish!!

August 11

Another great night at Crystal Motor Speedway!! Chad started heat 3 in 7th position and finished 4th. He started outside front row of the B main with a 3rd place finish! He started 19th of the Feature and unfortunately we were bumped into and broke the lower ball joint, tie rod and bent the upper ball joint in the 3rd lap so he watched the race from the infield!!

August 4

Crystal Motor Speedway! Not the best night! Chad started in heat 1 in 9th position and was held up and finished 6th. He started the B Main in 5th position but could not catch the group and finished 5th which was not a transfer spot for the Feature. So we watched the Feature from the stands! Bummer!!

July 27

Crystal Motor Speedway!! He started Heat 3 in 7th position and finished 5th. He started the B main in 4th position and finished 2nd! He started the Feature 17th position and finished 13th! Weekend of July 21

What a night at Crystal!! 32 modified's were there even though there was a big race up north!! Chad started Heat 1 in 8th and finished 7th. Things didn't look very good for the night when he was starting 7th in the B main and they were taking 4 to the feature and we had some really good cars running with us! Luck appeared and he finished 2nd!!! He started the Feature in 15th and worked his way up! There was misfortune for a few drivers in front of him which he avoided and made it into 11th !!!!!

Note: We had a new body on the car and was hoping it would stay straight, but crossing the fingers didn't work!!!! Oh Well!!!

Weekend of July 15

We were blessed with Linda's dad (Dave) at Mid Michigan!! This was the first time to see his son-in-law race!! Chad qualified 9th out of 21 modified's! He started Heat 2 in 6th and finished 4th!! Luck of the inversion he started in 4th for the Feature but on lap 2 he was forced into the wall. The damage was bad enough that he could not continue!! Maybe next time when Dave is there he will get to see a great show!!!!

July 14
It was a great night at Crystal Motor Speedway!!! Chad was tied for 2nd in points going in! He started 10th in Heat 1 with a 6th place finish!! He started 2nd in the C Main and held on the !! He started 16th in the Feature and worked his way up for a 10th place finish!! He finished the night holding on to 2nd in points alone!! Great Job!!!

Weekend of June 29

We visited Mt. Pleasant Speedway in Mt Pleasant! What a nice track! There were 20 cars and it was Mid Season Championships for the regular drivers of this track!! We qualified 17th which started us in row 2 outside in heat 1, with a 4th place finish! He started in 18th of the Feature and battled with our friend Chuck Strait to finish 14th!! It was a fun night, we got to play rather than working hard to gain another position like we do a Crystal!!
We will return here for fun next week!!!

June 30
Wow, What a night at Crystal Motor Speedway!!! We had a great car count of 35!! We were 4th in points going into the night hoping to gain another!!! He started outside of row 4 in Heat 1, but got held up and finished 7th!! He started 3rd row inside of the B Feature. He was working his way to the front when a car spun in front of him he checked up and got hit from behind which spun him into the wall and munch up the left rear quarter. The car seemed to be drive able with no flats. The tower told him if he could continue that he was in 3rd!! I gave him the thumbs up when he came around!!! He took the green flag restart, the car handled better wrecked he proceeded to battle for first, but missed it by a door!!! We got the car to the pits found we had alto of damage but left it! We changed the tire on that rear since the rim was bent, we decided we would run it!! It was fast broke!!!! He started 19th in the Feature, passing cars like made he worked his way towards the front with a 6th place finish!!!
What a night!!! Great Job!!!!!

Note: Sunday we scaled the car before we worked on it to see why it was better broke!!
We took those notes to set the car up after it was fixed hoping that it would work as good!!! We would like to thank Chuck, Ivan and Dominic for all their help Sunday fixing our car!!!
It was greatly appreciated!!!!

July 3
Well with a fixed car and not knowing if the set up was going to work we went to Crystal for the Firework Race!!! He started 9th in Heat 1 and finished 6th. The set up seemed to be good unfortunately they were only taking 4 to the feature out of the heats!! He started the C Feature on the front row outside!!! He took the lead a couple of laps in and came out the winner!!! Yea! Our first win of the season!!! This started him 14th in the Feature!! He worked his way up missing wrecks,( Thank God!!!) with a 9th place finish!!!! Wow what a night!!! We went into the night third in points and remained in 3rd but tied with the # 10 car Vandermark! Wow what a great job!!!!! ( the set up worked!!)

July 7
It was a hot night a Crystal Motor speedway with 36 cars!!! Chad was tied for 3rd place in points!! Only 2 points away from 2nd!! He started Heat 1 in 8th but was stuck behind a couple cars, he finished 4th but needed to finish in the top 3 to go the feature!! He started Pole of the B Feature. He took the lead right off the bat!! He lead the whole race to Win!!! He had almost a full straight away on 2nd!! As my Dad says the car was " Bad Fast" !!! He started the Feature in 13th. He was passing cars and avoiding the wrecks to finish 8th!! He made it to 2nd in points!! What a great night!!!!

Note: Linda's Dad ( Dave Headley) will be coming for a visit on the 13th!! He as raced Road Courses with SCCA for over 40 years!! It will be great to have him here along with his brains!!! He has won 3 out of 4 race this year and is in the Championships for 2007!!

Weekend of June 23

On our way to the track Chad said to me " I am going to the feature from the heat today!". I replied "you are going to have to work your butt off but you can do it!!!!" On that note, 34 cars attended, He started heat 2 in 10th position . They were transferring the top 4, He worked his way up for a 3rd place!! Wow he did it!! He started in 11th for the Feature! The car was awesome along with the driver. He finished in 5th place!! It is our best finish this year at Crystal!! What a night!!! Great Job!!!!

June 24
It was a small car count at Mid Michigan Raceway Park today! Only 11 cars attended! The track was very dry with no grip. He qualified 7th! He started Heat 1 in 5th and battled his way to 3rd! He started 5th in the Feature and didn't go far with a 5th place finish! But he had a great time playing with a friend for the last 7-8 laps side by side! Great Job!!!

June 29th we are traveling up to Mt. Pleasant Speedway to play on a different track!! Should be fun!! We will be a Crystal for the 30th and the 3rd of July!! Hope to see you there!!! Have a great Holiday!!!

Weekend of June 16

It was Mid Season Championships at Crystal Motor Speedway!! Chad was locked into the Feature because he was 4th in points going into the night!!! The top 12 in points were locked into the Feature, so the remaining would have to race their way in! In turn it was some wild battles to get into a transfer spot! He got to play in the heat race trying to save the car with no problems! He started 9th in Heat 1 and finished 4th!!! The top 12 had to invert for the Feature so that meant Chad started 9th! He battled his way up to 6th when he was punted and spun. He was sent to the back of the pack since the Flag man did not see what happened, so we got screwed! That was okay though, he worked his way through the cars to finish 9th!! He held his position but he gain a position in points!!! We are now in 3rd!!!!

June 17
It was a very Hot and sticky day at Mid Michigan Raceway Park!!! Chad qualified 4th! The Car looked very fast!!! He finished 4th in his Heat! He started 8th in the feature and kept getting held up so he took the 6th place finish!!! He is currently 6th in points!!
Great job!!!

Weekend of June 9

What a beautiful Weekend for racing at Crystal Motor Speedway!!!! 34 Modified's came out to play today!!! Chad started 7th in his heat with a 4th place finish but not enough to make the feature!! He started Pole of the C Main and could of held the lead except he slipped up but still finished 3rd with a great neck to neck finish with the 11 car of Dan Wiggins!! At least we made the Feature!! He started 18th and steadily worked his way to the forward into the 10th spot when a car hit the buried tire and caused Chad to Check up and 2 cars were able to get by him for the Checker! He finished in 12th place!! Great Job!!!
Jason raced at Duck River in Tenn., with luck in his corner! He won his heat race and won the Feature!! Great Job Jason!!

Dave Headley (Linda's Daddy) raced his MGB in La Junta, Colorado this weekend! He won on Saturday and returned for the Win on Sunday too!!! Great Job Dad!!!! Jason said, "Unfortunately my brother couldn't follow suit!!!"

June 10
It was a warm day at Mid Michigan Raceway Park! 23 Mods came to put on a show!! Chad qualified 18th! He started his heat in 8th and worked his way up to take 3rd!! I the Feature he started 18th. There was some wild racing going on, he cut a tire but continued for 5 laps until the Red flag flew. He came in we changed the tire and out he went!! Starting at the back of the pack he worked his way through with a 11th place finish!! Great Job!!!
Next weekend at Crystal is the Mid Season Championships!! There will be some great racing!! We are lucky for the fact we are 4th in points so we are locked into the feature!!!! Hope to see you there!!!!Thanks for your support!!!

Weekend of May 27
What a night is all that I can say!! We were rained off for Saturday night but fortunately we had clear skies for Sunday!! Chad and Jason were able to play together in all their races!!! And they played nicely together!!! Chad started 8th and Jason started 11th in heat 2! Chad missed the transfer spot by one with a 5th place and Jason got hit in the front end and couldn't go on! We were able to fix Jason's car to be ready for the C Feature!! What a race this was!! Chad worked his way forward with Jason fighting his way up missing a wreck until he broke a tube on the left side but continued on from last to catch his Brother and hold off the pack from behind!! Chad finished 3rd and Jason 4th!! They moved onto the Feature!! Chad started 18th and Jason 20th!! The Race ran Green, White, Checker with not Cautions!! Working their way through he pack Chad moved up and Jason drove underneath. They worked their way forward and Chad finished 13th and Jason finished 9th!!! I was a great night!!! Good job Guys!!!

Weekend of May 19
Hello Everyone!! We had a tough night at Crystal!! When you are so high in points unfortunately you have to start towards the back!! Chad started 9th in Heat 2 and couldn't get towards the front so we took the 8th place. He went through the C Main and just missed the Feature with 5th!! We went from a 3-way tie for 2nd in points to 6th!! Things will be better next weekend!!! Jason (brother) will be joining us next weekend for some excitement!!!

Weekend of May 12
Well it was another exciting night a Crystal Motor Speedway!! 35 cars came out to play under sunny skies but a little cool!!! Chad started in Heat 4 in row 3 outside and finished 4th! Unfortunately they were only taking the top 3! He advanced to the B main and started outside front row! He was able to lead a few laps but couldn't hold onto the win, he finished 3rd! He started the Feature 9th row inside (17th)! He kept advancing, a big wreck happened right in front of him, he was able to come almost to a complete stop avoiding Rusty Zeigler but someone closed their eyes behind him and hit him in the rear. It pushed Chad hard into Rusty and we lost another bumper ouch! He was able to continue with a smushed front end!!! He worked his way up 11 positions to finish 6th!!! Great Job!!! He is now in a 3 way tie for 2nd place in points!!! Wow!!!! We are looking forward to this weekend!!! Memorial weekend is the Janet Zeigler Memorial Race!! Chad's brother Jason and friends are coming up from Tennessee to play with us!!> Should be Exciting!! Hope to see you there!!!

May 13
A beautiful day at Mid Mich Raceway Park! 14 cars were able to get away for mothers day!!! Chad qualified 7th! He started in Heat 2 on the pole! But behind him in the field was the top qualifiers!! With big motors that could pull him on the straight aways! He finished 3rd holding some of them off! He started 4th row inside in the Feature! A few laps in a car cut him off and spun. Because Chad could not avoid him and hit him he was sent to the back of the field! He started working his way up and a car spun next to him ( not his fault either time) and came down and cut our tire!! He chose not to change it and to 12th place!! Oh well we will try next week!!

Weekend of May 5

Well, it was another great night for racing at Crystal Motor Speedway, a little on the cool side but clear skies!! 35 cars turned out for the night!! Chad started in the first heat 4th row outside and finished 4th! unfortunately they were only taking the top 3 to the feature! He started on the pole in the B main! He lead a couple laps but couldn't hold on to the lead and finished 3rd! But we made it into the Feature!!!!! They started 22 cars in the Feature! He started inside of row nine! He drove hard and avoid wreck by only inches (he said he closed his eyes going through one wreck!). He made it up to 6th place and late in the race a caution came out. He had to take the restart on the inside and the field freight trained around the outside, but still took 9th!! It was a great night!! He is ranked 5th in points already for the season!! Hopefully we will have a win soon!!! Wish us luck!! Hope to see some of you at the track!!!!

May 6
It was a nice day at Mid Mich Raceway Park, a little breezy but clear!! 13 cars came out to play!! We qualified 9th, I guess that was better than last!! He started Heat 1, 3rd row inside. With a 4th place finish!!! In the feature he started inside 2nd row and finished 6th! Hopefully the car count will be better this week!! Great job!!!!

Weekend of April 28th

Hello Family, Friends, and Fans! We had another great night for racing at Crystal Motor Speedway! 33 modified's came out to play!! Chad started 4th row inside of Heat 1 and finished 6th! He needed to finish in the top 4 to go to the feature! He started the C Main (last chance) front row outside and finished 2nd!!! Yea we made it to the feature!! The feature started 20 cars! Chad started 8th row outside and in the first lap the cars started to pile up in turn 1 and he had no where to go but straight in!! We got lucky and the damage was not as bad as it appeared so he was able to stay in the race! After the caution there were only 13 cars remaining. The car ran great with a finish of 7th!!! Great job!!
Jason raced at Duck river in Tenn and finished 3rd in the feature!! Great job Jason!!!!

April 29th
We traveled to opening night at Mid Michigan Raceway Park in Muir, Michigan!! We were able that morning to get the car back in order from the night before, straightening out the body, new spindle and fixing the leak in the fuel cell!!! Oh and a couple of new bumpers!! Chad qualified 5th out of 16 cars! He started heat 2 in the 2nd row outside and finished 6th!! He started the Feature in row 3 inside and finished 4th!! The car was not itself but she held together!! Great job!!!!
Next weekend will be the same tracks!! Hope all is well with everyone!!!! Thanks for all the support!!! Good luck guys!!!!

Weekend of April 21st

Hello Everyone!! We had a great season opener at Crystal Motor Speedway! 132 cars showed in all classes! We had 35 Modified's to round out the field! It seemed that since we changed our car to white so did everyone else!! I am still partial to ours!!!!! Chad started 2nd row inside for his heat race with a 2nd place finish! He lead a few laps but couldn't hold off the 7m of Jimmy Hale!! He started the feature 5th row inside of the field of 20! He finished in 7th place! It was a night of great racing with a few wrecks! Fortunately we weren't involved! I believe we might be out of our "Sophomore Slump"! Next weekend we will be a Crystal on Saturday and Mid Michigan Raceway Park on Sunday! Wish us luck!!!
Jason Maurer raced at Thunderhill in Summertown Tennessee! He won his heat and finished 5th in the feature! Great Job!!

Weekend of March 17th

We attended River Valley Speedway in Arkadelphia, Alabama! What a nice track!! We were helping roll in the track when our new motor started missing. We checked things out and found that the cam was faulty. Unfortunately we were unable to race. Jason and Carl went with us and they both had a good night. Carl won his heat race!! In the feature Jason finished 3rd with a flat tire and a broken arm, Carl finished 4th! It was fun to venture to a new track but a bummer not be able to race!! In two weeks, we will travel back to Tennessee to Jason's. We hope to attend North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia! I hope our bad luck is done. Wish us luck!!

Weekend of March 3rd

We traveled to Duck River Speedway in Shelbyville, Tennessee! The weather was warmer than Michigan but still chilly!! 16 cars turned out for the opener this weekend!! Chad started in 7th position in his Heat, and finished 4th! He started in 8th in the Feature! In the first lap he made it to 5th and held his own! There were many cautions in the first 6 laps! Unfortunately he lost a cylinder early on but still had oil pressure so he stayed in it! There was a caution on lap 18, which meant a Green, White, Checker restart! Still in 5th we went green came out of turn four the white flag waived and our motor blew! He still took 9th place in the feature!!

Good job everyone!!
The car is home for a motor change with hopes to return to Tennessee on March 17th, where we will be returning to Duck River to try again!!

Weekend of February 24th

Chad traveled to Winchester, Tennessee to race with his brother and friends! There were 29 Open Wheels! He qualified 23rd! The top 12 qualifiers were locked into the feature so Chad had to go through the Consy race where you needed to finish in the top 6 to make the Feature. He started 7th in the 2nd consy and finished 6th! He started the Feature in 24th (last) and came up through he field to finish 14th place!
It was a great weekend !!
Jason Maurer (brother) finished 21st, Randy Zeigler (friend) finished 16th, Junior Daniels (friend) finished 17th , and Carl (Leroy) Langford (friend) finished 7th in the 2nd Consy!

Our next race is at "Duck River Speedway" in Shelbyville Tennessee on March 3rd!
